The North Texas Municipal Clerks Association (NTMCA) is comprised of more than 100 dedicated professionals who work for a municipality in North Texas.
NTMCA is a Chapter of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association, Inc. (TMCA). We provide an excellent networking opportunity for both the novice and experienced municipal clerk.
Our organization is not limited to municipal clerks. Our membership includes professionals that work with records management, human resources, municipal court, legislative issues, building operations and the city manager's office.
The responsibilities of the municipal clerk's office varies for each municipality. The duties are established by state law for general law cities and city charter for home-rule municipalities. In addition to assigned duties, a city clerk must stay abreast of new legislation to ensure compliance for their municipality related to elections, record retention, open meetings act and the public information act.
